    HEAD TEACHER

I have been a teacher at A Place to Play (APTP) since 2012. In June of 2016, I graduated with honours from George Brown College with a diploma in Early Childhood Education. I am also a member, in good standing, with the College of Early Childhood Educators.

Being a teacher at APTP is very special to me as my own daughters attended the school. Olivia attended in 2006 and Vanessa in 2008. Their experiences with APTP were nurturing, caring and supportive.

It is my passion to help guide the children through the various levels of their development as they play, explore and learn during their time at APTP. It is my privilege to be a part of their lives in this way. I enjoy the look of pride on their faces as they accomplish new goals, learn and master new skills.

    TEACHER

I have been at a Place to Play (APTP) since 2014, and I have lived in the community for two decades. Being a dedicated mother of three children has provided me with an invaluable, hands-on experience that growing learners require.

Working with children is a responsibility that I cherish and each day anticipate with great joy. Giving back to the community and the cooperative established at APTP is both a rewarding and a satisfying experience - it enables me to celebrate the accomplishments of your child in the positive and inclusive atmosphere that APTP provides.

Being with pre-school aged children is a vocation for me. The reward of simple accomplishments over time become monumental moments of learning for both me and your child.

    CLASSROOM ASSISTANT

I’ve been the Educational Class Assistant at A Place To Play since 2023, and I'm thrilled to be part of this wonderful school. Both of my sons attended here (in 2018/2019 and 2021-2023), so I’ve seen firsthand how special this community is. I’ve enjoyed being involved in the school over the years, serving on the social committee for one year and on the board as Program Coordinator for two years.

Before joining the team at APTP, I worked as an archaeologist for 11 years in Southern Ontario and 7 years in commercial photography. After becoming a mom, I ran a home daycare until my boys started school.

I truly love being a part of your children’s growth and development, and it’s a joy to witness their accomplishments every day. APTP is a true gem in our community, and I’m proud to help contribute to its success.

    CLASSROOM ASSISTANT (ON LEAVE)

I have lived in the neighbourhood since 2011 when I moved here from the UK. I am a Mum of two and both my children attended APTP. I have served on the board as the registrar from 2019-2022 and have been working as a class assistant since 2020.

Before joining the APTP team I was a Special Needs Assistant back in London, England, a Nanny in Bloor West Village, and an EA at a before and after school kindergarten program. I absolutely love being a part of the APTP community and it really is amazing to see the children progress year after year.

APTP offers a fantastic learning environment under the nurturing guidance of our wonderful teachers. It’s a privilege to support this incredible program.
